How do I factory reset settings on a client? The client is a Windows machine. I must have misconfigured it initially, and several cycles of uninstall and re-install of the client software have not helped with getting it to appear on the server status page. I have since added other Windows clients on the same subnet without issues.
It looks like all the config files are in C:\Program Files\UrBackup, and the entire folder gets wiped out, when the app is removed in Settings.
Have you tried choosing the “add new client” from the web gui BUT..only so you can view/copy-paste the server-idents key into the client’s urbackup folder?
Stop the client’s urbackup service prior to doing this. Wait at least 5 solid minutes between updating clients server-idents and restarting the service. Then give it a full 15 mins before checking the gui to see if the client is recognised.
Thanks, @David_Music! I had tried that at some point. It did not work at that time, but that may have been, because I did not give it the time, like you’re suggesting.
At a later point, I went to the same page (above) and entered the client’s IP address. That added it to the backup immediately. The problem appears to be solved now. It will be a while, before I will have to add any new client to this backup server.
