After 2.2.8-CBT install, Win-10 client won't run, Says directory C: doesn't exist

Wife’s PC won’t backup since installing CBT version of client.
Tried adding just a directory also. Says C:\Program Files doesn’t exist.

Here is log from Web UI:

Info 03/20/18 11:04 Starting unscheduled full file backup…
Info 03/20/18 11:04 Backing up “C” without snapshot.
Errors 03/20/18 11:04 Cannot access path to backup: “C:” Errorcode: 2 - No such file or directory
Warnings 03/20/18 11:04 Hint: Directory to backup (“C:”) does not exist. It may have been deleted or renamed. Set the “optional” directory flag if you do not want backups to fail if directories are missing.
Errors 03/20/18 11:04 Constructing of filelist of “Butterfly” failed: error - index error
Errors 03/20/18 11:05 Backup had an early error. Deleting partial backup.

Sorry you are having issues. To solve the problem the client (debug) log would be useful.
If possible, could you post it or send it?

This post describes how to change the client to debug logging, where it is stored and where to send it to if posting is not possible: Having problems with UrBackup? Please read before posting

Thanks!

The BAT file for enabling debugging doesn’t exist.
The only BAT files are prefilebackup.bat and prefilebackup_new.bat
I did edit the args.txt file and changed loglevel from warn to debug and restarted the client.
Don’t know if that is what the BAT files does.

Also, Image backup can’t find the Master Boot Record.

Contents of debug.log: (Don’t know if it is warn or debug)

Could you run a file backup (and image backup) and post what it adds to the debug log file during that?

I ran Full File and Full Incremental.
Don’t see anything in the file that looks like it pertains to the two attempted backups.
Just a bunch of these and they are getting added about every minute since the time above (12:27)

Sorry, that is not what it shows when a backup is run.

Right, there was no indication in the log that a backup was run.
I removed the client S/W and reinstalled it and same problem.
I removed it and reinstalled 2.2.5 client and same problem with that now.

Any suggestions?

Is there a way to start the Windows client from the client other that tray icon?
Tray icon menu doesn’t have the backup items.
Thought I’d try starting from client to see it anything goes into the log.

Backups are always started by the server. If the tray icon doesn’t have the items it usually isn’t connected to the server.

Are you sure you don’t have two clients with the same name or something?

No duplicates.
I’ll remove everything, including client and start over as a new client and see what happens.
It will be awhile, I will post when done.
Got new motherboard, CPU and memory for my PC.
Installing that has priority.

OK, I’m back after the nightmare PC upgrade, but that’s a story for another forum.

I completely removed Client S/W from the Win 10 PC and reinstalled it.
The Server S/W doesn’t see the client. It shows as offline.
My PC (Win-10) and my Laptop (Win-7) are both backing up fine with CBT installed.

My Linux urbackup Server client show as offline too.
I’ve stopped and restarted the client and still shows offline.
