Would it make sense to have local clients connect using the active method?

Hey there! Quick, simple question that I figured this would be the best place to get answered.
My UrBackup Server is on a linux VM on my 10.2.1.0/24 subnet, but all my clients are on my 10.1.1.0/24 subnet. This causes issues with them not being discovered (I usually have to add a discovery hint, but I don’t want to have to change those whenever the IP leases expire). Would it make sense to configure my devices to connect using the internet/active method instead of the local/passive method? My thoughts is, since it is still on the local network, I don’t have to worry about speed or blowing my data caps (Yeah, 2023 and those are still a thing…), but the PCs all actively attempt to connect to the server instead of listening for UDP broadcasts which never come due to them being on a different subnet. Thanks! Hopefully that makes sense, idk much about networking but I’m assuming that’s why they are never discovered by themselves

Yeah, sure. Go for it if the automatic discovery isn’t helpful for you!
