Windows Server 2012 / 2012 R2 not booting after cbt client update

Hello,

Yesterday I noticed that after maintenance, 3 of the backed up clients are not booting anymore.
OS version: Windows 2012 R2 Standard
Urbackup Client version: 2.5.31-cbt
Urbackup Server version: 2.5.26
Automatic updates: enabled

I managed to trace back the issue to the latest urbackup client update with cbt driver.
It seems like on this specific operating systems after upgrading the client, at reboot, Windows goes into automatic repair mode and cannot continue from there. After enabling safe mode and disable automatic recovery, I saw the error behind the situation:

“The operating system couldn’t be loaded because the digital signature of a file couldn’t be verified.”
Status: 0xC0000428
File: \Windows\System32\Drivers\urbackupcbt.sys

Until now, other OS-es are working fine.

I solved the situation, by mounting the OS disk and replacing the c:\windows\system32\drivers\urbackupcbt.sys file with a previous version.

Will this be fixed in a future version? Or Windows 2012 is too old and no more support for it?

I also checked other Urbackup setups with different server version but same client version with CBT and same OS version, and the problem persists. So it’s not specific to this setup only.

Thank you!
