Windows Client memory leak

Hi,

We have a Windows 2008 Server that we have the UrBackup client installed on and we need to restart the UrBackupClientBackend everyday as it is taking a huge amount of memory. If we leave it overnight, then it takes 3.6GB. One time it was left for 3 days and it took 10GB of ram.

It appears that UrBackup is stuck doing an incremental backup as the status says 0% and when I restart the service the incremental backup starts but does not complete and this server has not had a backup for 2 weeks now. In that time the server has been restarted but this did not fix the issue

We have version 1.4.8 installed on the client and the server. We have other clients installed and this issue does not happen. Do any others have an issue with Server 2008?

Sorry you are having issues. You are the first one to report this. If you can of something that is special on this server please say so! (E.g. a folder with a lot of files in it, etc.)

Could you put the client into the debug log mode by running C:\Program Files\UrBackup\enable_debug_logging.bat or changing “warn” to “debug” in C:\Program Files\UrBackup\args.txt, perform an incremental backup and then send the resulting log file at C:\Program Files\UrBackup\debug.log to martin@urbackup.org for further analysis?

Hi,

Sorry I forgot to come back and update this issue, it turned out that we were having a HDD failure which was causing the issue, once the drive was replaced in the raid and then re-installed the software all was OK.

Thanks
