User does not exist

I am a new user here but I have over thirty years as a Mainframe/distributed systems admin with a focus on storage management. I only mention it because I have worked with many backup packages (big and small) and this software has my complements. I like it a lot.

I have a running Urbackup environment with about 6 Windows clients with 1 client doubling as a server. I was reviewing the Status webpage and decided to follow the documentation suggestion of adding the admin account. I ended up creating 2 Admin privilege accounts. Now when I try to open the status webpage,it immediately prompts for a user/password, but nothing I supply will work. I have tried both accounts but neither work. The msg/error I get is “user does not exist”. I tried the batch script to reset the admin pw, but it also reports “user does not exist”. I saw somewhere a command using urbackupsrv.exe with an argument to reset or change the pw (dont remember exact command) that didn’t work. Now I am looking for a way to avoid my final intention to deploy the nuclear option and destroy what I have worked hard to create. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I had the same thing happen to me tonight, turns out that i had created my admin accounts with all lowercase letters but the form field was auto capitalizing the username. Once i realized that i tested both accounts and they worked.

FYI,
I ran into similar issues, while trying to figure the LDAP/AD configuration in my UrBackup Windows Server. Every time I enabled it, it would lock up the Web console. I went for the nuclear option as well. Later, I discovered there no need to go for that option. The MD5 password as well as LDAP/AD configuration are stored in the SQL database in the Urbackup installation folder. Use any SQLlite viewer and just change/rewrite the MD5 value. It takes only a few steps and restarting the service, it gets the web console back in working condition!
