Yes. When, not if, your antivirus detects a false positive, you’ll lose all your backups of that important file it just trashed company-wide. It’s tough to convince most A/V products to ignore all the places a backup file or image passes through between the save and restore. But it’s your neck to risk as you wish.
Tnx for the reply Don, backup storage will not be on AVG Server we have a NAS for the storage. AVG AV Server will be only used to run the server.
AVG will still scan all the data coming in. The scans will, at best, take longer to process and your backup times will definitely take maybe days - especially if you run with background service on.
I don’t think it will straight up trash it, but it will require some micro-management in the beginning. You may be able to get away with excluding that directory from auto-scans, but having your backup server packaged with your AV server does cause quite a handful of issues that need tempering.
