Can I use UrBackup to back up system images to the OneDrive cloud?
As far as I know, the answer is “maybe”.
UrBackup by itself does not have cloud capabilities and I wouldn’t recommend it because it is messy (in my opinion). But, I think it is possible .
The way Onedrive works is that it syncs one local folder to the cloud.
So, if you can somehow install a OneDrive client application on the same server as UrBackup, then you could tell UrBackup to use that local folder as the target for the backup files.
The OneDrive client application will then sync the contents of this local folder in the server to the cloud. This should work as long as you use a dedicated OneDrive account for UrBackup to use.
The problem comes when you share the same OneDrive account with any of the computers you are backing up.
If you do, you may be faced with a loop situation in where Urbackup saves the backup files to Oncedrive cloud. Then Onedrive cloud syncs the backup files to a local folder in a client system that UrBackup is trying to backup.
In a situation like this, the drive of the client system will always be different (because it will always have a new backup file of itself). Since it is different, Urbackup will always do a new “bigger” backup file of that system, which OneDrive will then sync back to that same system. The cycle will repeat itself indefinitely until all your available space is used.
As you can see, it is possible but you should be aware of some edge cases like this.
Another option is to use Infscape which i believe has cloud capabilities out of the box (I don’t know for sure as i don’t use it).
Thank you.

As you observed, attempting to back up the C drive to a folder on OneDrive when the folder to contain the backup is synced with a folder on the C drive results in an infinite loop. I’ve decided to use a flash drive for the backups.
