Backup failed

2.4.11 tests during startup if syncing volumes works (specifically the volume the backup storage is on). In your case this test seems to succeed (Failure would be in the server log file after startup…). If it succeeds a later volume sync is fatal for a backup.

Thank you for the reply. What do I need to do to resolve this issue?

Decided to start a full backup in hopes it clears the issue. Backup hasn’t completed for a week, getting desperate.

3 days for a full backup, same error. Since this isn’t working I’ll look for instructions on downgrading to an older version and pray it doesn’t break everything.

Capture

The one difference between this client and all others is the client being backed up to a redirected/mapped/whatever-it’s-called drive as a folder. Renamed the folder, created a normal folder for the client, ran a small full backup without error. Prior to 2.4.11 upgrade the drive-as-folder had been working flawlessly and allowed me to add storage easily for large clients (this is the only large client). I formatted the drive, replaced the mapping and tried again without success. I was running 2.3.8 before the upgrade.

I was guessing it would be something like this…

https://github.com/uroni/urbackup_backend/blob/004b9d351683253fe34f8ed1383cc71d2868bfeb/urbackupcommon/os_functions_win.cpp#L1616 probably needs to by fixed to work for non DOS letter volumes. Patches welcome.

Previous versions also failed, but ignored the failure. Not syncing backups can cause corrupted or partial backups.

Hello team, I am still getting a code 5 error for file backups on my linux machines. My backup server is setup on a windows VM and the storage is on a NAS device.

Is there a solution for this?
