Ever since I installed urBackup, my wife’s computer has a problem sleeping.
It goes to sleep (standby mode) but wakes up again shortly after.
I believe the documentation says urBackup sends out a UDP command every 59 seconds (or minutess, don’t recall which) to search for new clients.
Could this be the issue? If so, could this be changed to be an option on the Server tab?
Yes it is every 50s. But I don’t think that is the reason, because other services (e.g. Windows shares) are doing that as well.
It might be caused by a TCP connection which the server is trying to reestablish after it is lost. I’ll have to think about how to avoid that, if it is really the cause. I’ll try to test if I get a PC to wake up.
For now you could just go to the device manager, select the network device and remove the checkbox from “Allow device to reactivate computer” in the energy tab there. This is disabled on my laptop here by default btw.
