- Does every urBackup server that is created need to appear on the world map that appears on the website? If so, can that be disabled? I’d rather not have my server appear there.

My guess - do you have check for updates enabled? Auto-updates will reveal IP Addresses.

Unless you are in a very unique part of the world I can’t see anyone spotting you. Looks like just a vague blob of colouring to me. It is a dumb jpeg, not something zoomable.
I guess if you ask @uroni to have your IP Address removed it may be possible, but a map like that is usually created in an intentionally anonymous manner.
Or stop doing auto-update checks?
The map is from 2017 and not updated since https://web.archive.org/web/20170508105812/https://www.urbackup.org/ . There’s also GDPR since and so IP addresses are censored in logs.
Even disregarding that, it is obviously too course and geo-ip only gives the location of your internet provider. You can check at e.g. What is my IP address? - IPinfo.io .

I love the dots on that map that are way out in the ocean somewhere… Urbackup even on obscure little islands.
