Server Backup questions

Is there any reason why urbackup only does image backup of servers ( Server 2003), it does not do file backup, want to know if its just me or am not doing something right

Another question is it possible to have 2 servers in the same sub network as I would like to back up the devOp team in another NAS.

  1. It should work; what version of UrBackup are you using, and what errors are you getting?
  2. It is. While they will both attempt to pull new clients, you can manually set the server that your group communicates to with the idents file.

I am using the 1.45 version for the 2003 servers. Here is the error am getting

Sorry to ask, how do I set the ident file?

Right-click the tray icon and set your backup paths.

Yeah got the file backup working. Any idea on how to set the idents file?

I normally copy the idents from a good client and replace it on the bad one.

I believe you can take the idents from the server and apply it to the client as well.

I think the server_idents on the server is under %PATH%\UrBackupServer\urbackup

While the client one is under %PATH%\UrBackup - normally C:\Program Files\UrBackup
