Seed virtual machine

Hi All, sorry if asked before but I have the hyper v client (purchased) on a few machines and has worked lovely.
I now have to backup a large VM, all the others have been small at around 20-60GB which handles over the internet fine. this though is about 220GB and fails due to drops and file errors.

How do I seed to a disk a VM (image), is it like the seeding of files or images, hash on client transport to local server then backup to that local server then redirect?

Currently this would only be possible via backing it up to a local server, copying the backup folder, then manually modifying backup_server.db (e.g. with SQLiteBrowser) to add the new image backup to the database.

If you use the appliance you can replicate from a local server…

What kind of error messages did you get when the backup fails?

Thanks Uroni, appreciate the tip. I have been off for a few days but will be doing some work on the system then (and a bit more experimenting) over Xmas.

I will look up the transfer error on the client when back at work.
