Restore USB stick WIFI Driver Issue

I’m an UrBackup user attempting to perform a full system restore using the official UrBackup Restore Stick (Live Linux environment). I’m facing a persistent issue where the environment fails to recognize any Wi-Fi adapter on multiple tested machines, making a network connection impossible without an Ethernet cable.

I have tested several different Wi-Fi dongles with the same result (no detection). Crucially, one of the dongles I tested is a TP-Link TL-WN725N (Realtek RTL8188EUS/CUS). I have previously used this specific dongle without issues on other common Linux distributions, which leads me to believe the necessary kernel module/driver for this popular chipset might be missing or not loaded in the Restore Stick’s current Linux kernel.

@uroni Recent laptops do not have RJ-45 ports and the UrBackup stick 2.6.0 has no integrated drivers neither for integrated Wi-Fi cards nor for Wi-Fi dongles. I still have to test if it supports RJ-45 dongles, but if these are not supported then UrBackup is almost useless for modern laptops.

Not being able to recover from a broken disk, or not being able to clone images to modern computers is a serious problem that impacts UrBackup’s usability.
