Hi, have a 4Tb SSD, backups ok, tried to a complete system restore, says disk is too small, this isnt possible its an identical disk (exact model number), how do i get the system back?

Could you post the logs (/txt) files from the restore cd?
Also perhaps post the .mbr file and exact size the ssd you are restoring to (that way I can create a VM with a disk of the same size and try to restore the mbr file)
Where are the log file located in the system and how do i access them?
How do i get the exact size of the mbr file.?
I dont have access to command line, the server is running on a secured NAS (i dont have access to the main engine), the CD side i do however.
The actual disk was no where near full. I believe it was a VHDX file as it was 4 disk
In the /root directory (via sudo -i) the restore_mode.txt log file (and the other txt file in that directory).
Exact size of the disk? lsblk -b
Hi, after alot of work seems like a possible bug…. I now have an 8Tb drive trying to restore a 4Tb original disk and “Disk too small for image”, this isnt possible with a drive twice the size.
The drive backed up is 4Tb, every restore ive done was under 2Tb using VHD original backup stores, ive tried 2 restores with backups using VHDX (over 2TB) and both failed with drives too small.
Seems like there are restore problems over 2Tb? (the restore target is GPT formatted with a partition installed, should it erase this partition or is it trying to find the disk free space?
I can restore any system backed up with VHD under 2Tb to the same 8Tb drive no problem. The only systems that will not restore are the ones with VHDX and over 2TB (specifically the 2 tested were 4Tb).
As mentioned. Given the mbr file I can look into this. The mbr file is stored in the server next to the image btw.
