Restore Image Failure

I have a server that has been deleted but had image backups for. The first restore I have tried has not been successful. I can get the C:\ Volume back but the D:\ contains the main application database and it fails when trying to restore 2 seperate copies. The folder containing the D:\ volume has a separate vhdz.tmp file compared to the C:\ working copy. Is there any way to reconstruct a working VHD file so I can retrieve the data?

Had high hopes for the product but in my time of need it has not delivered.

Two things, but one is probably irrelevant by your post - just want to verify though.

  1. 2.X and 1.X use different restore CDs, please make sure you are using the one related to your version.
  2. I never got this to work, but I also do not have any computers that have failed in such a way or had this double-image problem that you are having.
I would say for you to try out assemble_image.bat and try to see if you can assemble an image out of both of your parts - it is located on your server where you find cleanup.bat and remove_unknown.bat and other scripts like that.

You could try it, but as I said before I never ‘really’ tried it or got it to work.
