Tricky situation.
I was attempting to do a (non-critical) rollback of a Windows 11 host to a prior image, just a few days old. However, when the backup boot loader prompted me to select the restore disk, I could ONLY select the usb drive. I couldn’t select the actual 1TB ssd.
Some complications of this: I had to disable secure boot in my BIOS to run the restore utility from my USB at all (as windows recently broke booting Linux) and this is a bitlocker-encrypted drive.
I don’t know if either of those things affected my ability to even see the boot ssd of the host. That said, when I re-enabled secure boot, I was able to boot back into Windows.
I looked around and couldn’t find anyone with this issue.
