Problems with UrBackup Data Store Path on CIFS Share from QNAP NAS

Hi,

I installed the UrBackup Server on Windows SBS 2011 with a CIFS share mounted as Drive(U:).
The CIFS share is created on a QNAP TS-459 Pro II.
With no problems I am able to access the share from the Windows Explorer and am able to read, write and delete files as expected.
In the webinterface of UrBackup I still get the error “err_folder_not_found”.
As I am out of ideas is there someone that might help me with this issue?

Thanks in advance

Duke

I have create a FAQ entry for this issue now: http://www.urbackup.org/faq.html#use_shares

Thanks a lot for this FAQ-Entry!
This perfectly explains my problem and will sure help lots of other people.

EDIT: Maybe you could mention that its making problems when you try to connect the share as network-drive with a drive-letter and configure that drive letter as backup-destination. Using the UNC-path works though.
The problem mentioned, having to create a subfolder in the network-share can’t be confirmed. It also works without the subfolder on Server 2k8 R2 for me.

I tried that and it worked for me. But perhaps it gets unmapped, if the user loggs out?
