Im stuck with archives. Plz help me understand the logic of URBackup Archives.
For the FS client i had set up:

Why so? 5 last archives as expected. But why 23/07 and then 17/07 (was expecting 18/07 and 25/07).
Then i have another client TSC with same archive setup:

Why? Whats the problem?
The computers may have been turned off or otherwise excluded from the backup window on those days, so no backup from day 7 was available to be marked for archive. You may want to set your weekly archive to allow backups from any of days 5,6,7. UrBackup will use the “every week” setting to wait at least a week before looking for another chance to mark a successful backup for archiving.
You could also wait 5 days instead of one week and select days 0,1,2 (0 is the same as 7) to have UrBackup prefer Sunday but allow Monday or Tuesday if earlier backups are unavailable. The archive will then float to the first backup of the week unless the computer has an extended outage.
How should i setup URBackup Archives to have 15 daily backups (work days preferable) + 12 monthly backups + some yearly backups?
UrBackup has a different paradigm than this.
Instead of the following:
– Give me backups of a specific type, at a specific starting time, and keep them until a specific ending time or date
It works more like this:
– Give me file and/or image backups whenever at least X duration has passed since the last full or incremental backup, and then keep at least the most recent Y number of each kind of backup around.
You can set things in motion to try and approximate the old style backup paradigm, but I found it better for me and my clients, to adapt to this other paradigm that is native to UrBackup.
