My UrBackup client doesn’t start on Fedora Linux
Checking out /etc/sysconfig/urbackupclient there’s no key called internet_server so how do I specify this on the UrBackup client?
What settings (if any) do I need on the UrBackup server?
Have managed to work it out after going through the doc in more detail
- I have added the Linux clients from the UrBackup server UI; instead what I should’ve done is to download the client from urbackup.org as outlined here > UrBackup - Download UrBackup for Windows, GNU/Linux or FreeBSD (my clients and server are on the same subnet)
- The status UI didn’t show anything but checking the activities showed a backup has automatically started
- Once the backup finished the Linux client showed in the Status UI
- For the benefit of others this is the output of the client status on the Linux client (2.101 is the UrBackup server)
For others getting here.
settings.cfg in /usr/local/var/urbackup/data has the “internet_server” field, and was empty on my fresh install.
Setting this to my server’s name allowed my urbackup client service to start.
