I have installed and removed 2.0.36 multiple times but can’t seem to get the GUI working.
I will now attempt to update the OSX version and see if the problem goes away.
Strange though, I have many OSX systems running without a hitch.

You’ll have to give me the solution. 10.6 is really old for Apple software (it’s unsupported).

It was the OS version.
I upgraded it to 10.7.4 (Lion) and it’s working fine.
So, just to be clear, the client runs in 10.6.8 but there’s no GUI. Upgrade to 10.7.4 and the GUI appears on reboot.
It may be worth adding to the system requirements in the manual.

10.7 isn’t supported either. I’d say at least upgrade to 10.11, otherwise you won’t get security updates. And if you don’t want to upgrade all the time use another OS 
I would if the unit would take it.
This is the end of the line for this old MacBook… 
Then Apple obviously wants you to buy a new one
