Hello all, got urBackup server 2.3.0 installed on a Windows server 2012 r2 and wanted to use as storage folder a samba share which allows only a specific machine (the Win server) and a specific user to access.
On the server I created a local user who will use that network share.
I changed urBackup service to run as the just created new user.
If I log on the server with that user, share (named \nfsrv\backup) is immediately accessible, but at the same time urBackup shows error message
“(err_cannot_create_subdir). The specified path is invalid. (code: 161)”.
After some hours of trial I have no more bullets: does anybody have clues of any kind?
Thanks.
UrBackup 2.0.x on Windows won’t work with samba anyway, because samba does not support symbolic link creation from Windows.
Just in case anyone else comes across this thread while they are searching for “Code: 161”, I received this code on all backups after changing the backup storage path. In order to resolve, I just needed to restart the UrBackup services running on the host machine and the backups began succeeding again.
