Moving client to new group breaks image backup

I have been doing backups on the server instance for months now and everything was working fine. I created 3 groups with the same settings as the default group and then moved some clients to those. After that, image backups started failing. File backups were fine. I verified all of the settings were the same. If I do a manual image backup (full or incremental) is shows queued on the status page, but nothing happens. In the client if I initiate a full backup, nothing happens. No log entries either.

Moving them back to the default group causes it to work immediately.

The entire environment has been rebooted and I also have tried uninstalling/reinstalling one of the clients (while it was in the new group) to no avail.
