Moving Backup Server from Windows to Ubuntu 14.04.1

I would like to move my UrBackup Server running on Windows 8.1 to a server running Ubuntu 14.04. How easy/hard would this be?

Any input would be appreciated.

As mentioned in the other current “move” thread Moving UrBackup to new server?

  1. Move all files excluding the www dir from C:\Program Files\UrBackupServer\urbackup to /var/urbackup
  2. Somehow copy the storage preserving hard links. E.g. via rsync -H.
  3. Setup the new storage directory in the settings
  4. Run start_urbackup_server --remove_unknown to fix the symlinks
