Moved server from windows 2012 to QNAP (running as an app) do I have to reinstall clients, or can I point them to the new IP?

Hello all,
As I mentioned I moved the server from windows 2012 to QNAP (running as an app). Do I have to reinstall clients, or can I point them to the new IP somehow?

if the version on the qnap is the same or newer than the one on the 2012 server just delete the server_idents.txt and new_server_idents.txt on the clients and restart the client and they will automatically connect to the qnap
