hi, i installed the latest Truenas Urbackup-Server (Docker of https://hub.docker.com/r/uroni/urbackup-server). I missing the “mount Image” Button. I guess that the libguestfs is missing in the image? I think the mount feature is would be very useful. Is there a chance to integrate?
you are absolutely right.
Some others have reported this but i have yet to see a proper response on if this will ever be resolved.
My understanding is that you would have to create your own docker image with urbackp+libguest if you wanted the “mount” functionality.
I personally have no interest in doing this as i prefer to install applications using the official images posted by the developers as much as possible.
is libguestfs still missing in the new urbackup 2.5.34 docker image?
libguestfs is for running VMs to securely mount images. Making this work in Docker is kind of out-of-scope of Docker, I’d guess.
To properly solve this it would probably need to be integrated with FreeNAS, such that FreeNAS runs the VM that mounts the image and then makes this available to the Docker container.
Thank you so much for the clarification.
All this time i thought it was an oversight when in reality it is working as designed.
