I’ve had some issues with unrelated software after installing urbackup client on a debian server. After debugging, I found that the linux client installation changes the /usr/local/bin permissions, and this seems a bug to me:
Before installing:
drwxr-sr-x 2 root staff 4,0K ago 18 09:13 bin
After installing:
drwxr-Sr-- 2 root staff 4,0K ago 18 09:42 bin
I think the installer should never change system folders permissions, and if some changes had to be made, only inform about ir on the installation process so the admin can make those changes and be aware of them.
