URBackup is running on win7, writing to a USB hard disk. However, the disk is filling up, I’d like to replace it with a new, larger one. But if I use windows to copy the backup files, it expands all those links into real files taking up space, and the new hard disk is nearly full.
Surely there is some way to duplicate all those links.

Hi, I suggest you connect both disk to the same machine.
Stop the UrBackup service.
Copy the whole partition between disks.
Expand the partition to fill the rest of the new disk.
Make it assume the same drive letter under windows (Use the disk management utility diskmgmt.msc)
Start the UrBackup service.
Note:Rsync is also an option and should help you clone the links correctly.
You could also use something like clonezilla to clone the old drive to the new one, then expand the partition with disk management as Andre_Ferreira mentioned.
Thank you to both of you. Now that you’ve said this, I have one of those “why didn’t I think of that?” moments.

David
