Ideally I would deploy the prefilebackup script, a set of files that go along with the client package (scripts that automate database dumps etc.) and a way to set the arguments used by the client such as setting the internet only mode.
The installer sources are checked in with the rest of the source code, so you could extract the binary build from a installer using 7-zip. Add the files you need, modify the installer script and then rebuild the installer.
