"internet_status": "no_server"

I have 2 Fedora Servers I want to backup and have installed the same version of the UrBackup client from UrBackup - Download UrBackup for Windows, GNU/Linux or FreeBSD

dell-kvmhost backups nicely; i.e.

while the other client (sr90ha) doesn’t get discovered. When I restart the client "internet_status" goes from wait_local to no_server

I haven’t done anything on both servers to register, discover etc. dell-kvmhost was discovered automatically

Both clients are on the same subnet. The only difference is that dell-kvmhost runs Fedora Server 40 whereas sr90ha runs Fedora Server 41.

Nothing in the logs as far as I can see.

I can really only think of two things:

  • Server OS (Fedora 40 vs 41)
  • Network/firewall settings

What UDP message (port etc.) is sent by the server so I can run a Wireshark trace maybe? Any other ideas how to resolve this?

Hi,

Traffic isn’t likely to be UDP given you want confirmation of it being delivered/received, but TCP:55414-5 are the two ports that you want to check for traffic…

Are you using DNS or the IP address for the server that the clients connect to, and what does the [UrBackup] server say about the clients…?

Depending on which way they’re using, I’d check that it’s able to establish a connection using PING to check resolution and pathing issues, and then TELNET or similar to check if the client servers are able to open the ports…

I’m using the IP address of the UrBackup server.

Checking the TCP ports 55414 and 55415 only shows the connection to the computer I run the management UI (55414).

What’s puzzling is I have two Fedora Servers with the same UrBackup client version. However once I have checked the firewall config I noticed a difference between the two. Once I synced the firewall config the server was discovered by the UrBackup server and works now :slight_smile:
