Incremental file backup copies exact same files again without symlink

Hi,

I am using UrBackup 2.5.33 (server), 2.55.25 (client) on Windows 11 to backup, very simple set up to backup one computer; server and client all together on one.

After running out of disk space during recent incremental backup, I noticed that contents of a one particular folder tree that are for sure not changed are all treated as new files and copied over again without symlinks. This obviously results in huge unnecessary storage consumption. What is more confusing is that looking at the web interface of server, there is only one version for each of these duplicated files, all pointing to the first undeleted incremental backup. Digging deeper I found more duplicates on the backup storage of exact same files.

So, my questions are:

1- How could this have potentially happened?

2- Where does urbackup store the hash of backed up files, is it in backup_server_files.db files table? Does every file need to have at least one entry in this table?

3- Is there a way to fix this?

Thanks

A.

Having this same issue as well, posted about this here. Is there a way to file an issue on this ? I don’t seem to have permissions on the issue tracker.
