Currently What happens for Windows Clients with regard to EFI boot and System Reserved or Recovery partitions is far from clear If a user wants to specify for instance C: & exclude a volume such as D: possibly on another drive.
It would also be very nice if you could specify explicitly volumes not currently assigned a letter including as examples:
- OEM utility partitions
- OEM Recovery partitions
- Partitions associated with other installations (Windows or Linux)
- Volumes mounted in a folder rather than assigned a letter (Supported by Windows since at least Win2000)
- Encrypted partitions not currently mounted
In the case of file systems windows can’t read, dropping to a sector-by-sector copy including free space as other programs do would be acceptable.
