How to move from ext4 to btrfs?

I have been testing my setup with the existing ext4 storage drive now I am thinking to employ btrfs for the storage backend. How would I do that given that I want to move my existing backups to btrfs and take advantage of the snapshots deduplication etc?

If you have only a bit of data use e.g. rsync to copy the files (make sure to use the correct options to preserve hard links).

Run full file backups afterwards to make it take advantage of btrfs features (subvolumes+snapshots).
