I’m guessing you’re using a pre-built version of the macOS client from somewhere, rather than building your own? If so, then yes - this is a known issue in later releases, and the macOS client was discontinued a while ago because of such issues piling up.
Fixes for this are underway, but I don’t know when a macOS client will become a first-class citizen again.
