How to backup a dualboot machine?

Hi

I’ve a dual booting (Windows/Linux) laptop which I want to backup.
While the Windows client was recognized and backed up fine, the Linux client isn’t seen by the server. No Firewall ect, but I think the reason is that this laptop is known with the same DNS name in my network and the Urbackup server thinks “this is the same machine”

So is there a setting for the Linux client how I can override the name to have some sort of “Host-Windows” and “Host-Linux”?

You can override the client name on each side of the installation, that way you have two different “clients”. Linux can also read Windows partitions, so you could just have the Linux client backing up both paths.

I’ve noticed some others mentioned issues with clients having the same name at the same time.
