I recently upgraded from an older urbackup and I wanted to thank those who have clearly been working hard and made some great progress. First impression things I noticed:
- The support for LVM snapshots on linux clients. This saves me from maintaing pre and post file backup hooks and makes my client config simpler and backups tidier since I don’t the mount of the snapshot in the backup directory paths.
- The new web interface is a good step forward.
- The activities page showing ETAs and bandwidth graphs does help me figure out what’s happening and how long I can need to leave machines on for.
- I find it easier to launch specific backups from the client page.
- Backups seem to be starting faster and more reliably.
