Filebackup on Linux Clients failed (Creating shadowcopy) (Sorry. File not found.)

Hello,
up to now I have only backuped Windows clients.
(File and image backups successful)

I have now installed the agent on 2 Linux clients (option in setupscript 5),
as I will only use file backups.

However, I get the following message in the log file for both clients:

2024-01-20 23:21:38: ERROR: Creating shadowcopy of "etc" failed.
2024-01-20 23:21:39: ERROR: Creating shadowcopy of "root" failed.

According to the log, the backup is successful or I don’t see any errors here.
When I navigate to the backup on the server and click on a file, I get the message:
Sorry. File not found.

I created a new Debian 12 VM and installed the client without issue using option 5 (no snapshots). I do have a group set up just for Linux clients to change the options. Looks like you are getting shadowcopy errors that were inherited from a Windows setting.

Created a new group called ‘Linux Backups’ that grabs all user files.

File Backups
Included files - home/:/Applications/;home/:/Desktop/;home/:/Documents/;home/:/Music/;home/:/Pictures/;home/:/Videos/
Default directories - /home

Image Backups - Both intervals disabled.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answer.
That’s exactly how I set it up.

However, I notice that the error message “Sorry. File not found.” also appears on the Windows clients.
The only thing I can still view and mount are the contents of the Windows images.

Seems to be a bigger problem. I had moved the location /var/urbackup in the past.

I have now reinstalled urBackup on fresh Debian.
However, I see that the message “sorry file not found” still appears for Linux backups. But I can still restore the files, strange.

Looks like a shadow copy problem, its failing to create it for the folders listed

Hello, has anyone been able to solve this issue on the Linux client? I’m facing this problem in Linux (SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) client 2.5.25, xfs, server 2.5.33, and this is driving me nuts.
