FWIW, I’m running UrBackup Server v2.5.33 on Ubuntu Server 22.04
Something I’ve always wondered about and would like to see, but haven’t until now ever taken the time to ask about or look into: On the Backups page listing the client "Computer Name"s and "Last File Backup"s, why isn’t there a column for “Last Image Backup” too? Many of my clients only have image backups and no file backups, so I always have to open each client to see the date for the latest backup. Seems like it should be a relatively simple enhancement.
I just use the Status page as it is all visible there… or at least if you use the menu
That’s a good observation and I actually do have those columns enabled on the Status page and I do also tend to look at the Status page. Those columns are nicely color coded so “No recent backup” shows up in light red and stands out.
In my use-case, I tend to periodically visit the Backups page to spot-check the backups for random devices to ensure that there is a decent catalog of backups retained. I have a mix of around sixty devices that get backed up. Most get both Image and File backups, but some get only either Image backups or file backups. So when I happen to be looking at the Backups page and see a bunch of dashes “-” in the Last backup column, it’s always momentarily disconcerting.
For me, having the “Last file backup” column is useful on the Backups page, but also having a “Last image backup” column there would be equally useful. It seems arbitrary to show only one of the two possible backup types. It makes more sense to show either none or both of the two backup types rather than to arbitrarily only show one of the two types. In fact, I think I’d rather prefer to have no “Last backup” column at all over just having a column shown with only one of the two possible backup types. That would at least absolutely require me to only look at the Status page for the quick overview and then move over to the Backups page for spot-checks.
Just my two cents on a minor feature.
