I’m not sure if I’ve entered the exclusions correctly but over the internet file backups seem to include the excluded files.
My Exclusion list looks like this
.pst; .mp3;.avi; .mkv;.mp4; .mpg;.mpeg; .vod;.wmv; .mov;.m4v; .wav;.wma; .iso;.vhd; .vhdx;*.ost
there are * before .file name to show wild card but this forum is removing them so looks incorrect in this post
Using Wildcards works well or me:
*.pst;*.mp3;*.avi;*.mkv;*.mp4;*.mpg;*.mpeg;*.vod;*.wmv;*.mov;*.m4v;*.wav;*.wma;*.iso;*.vhd;*.vhdx;*.ost

Could you check if it properly propagates to C:\Program Files\UrBackup\urbackup\data\settings.cfg on the client?

I guess it shows the correct exclude list if you select the client on the server?
Do you have Allow client-side changing of settings enabled or disabled for the client?

Thank you for your response. yes you are correct the exclude list does display correctly on the server side for the client. and yes “Allow client-side changing of settings” is enabled (is this the cause)?
