Error starting Backup - Error creating hash and Backupfolder [OMV4]

Hi,

im using urbackup wit my OpenMediaVault4 installation.
I’m using the OMV4-Plugin (v 2.3.7).

i changed the Backuppath in the webinterface to my HDD, otherwise urbackup would try to Backup to my System-microSD-Card.

user and group “urbackup” has read/write access to my Backupfolder on the HDD.
clientfolder / clients / urbackup_tmp_files - folders are created.
but backup didn’t start, i get the following errors:

2019-02-08 11:32:30: msg=START BACKUP FULL
2019-02-08 11:32:33: ERROR: Error creating hash folder. No such file or directory (code: 2)
2019-02-08 11:32:33: ERROR: Cannot create directory /sharedfolders/Backup/urbackup/Astrid/190208-1132 for backup (server error). Create subvolume ‘/media/BACKUP/urbackup/Astrid/190208-1132’
2019-02-08 11:32:33: Time taken for backing up client Astrid: 2s
2019-02-08 11:32:33: ERROR: Backup failed
2019-02-08 11:32:33: Updating statistics…
2019-02-08 11:32:34: msg=WAKEUP

any idea?

maybe,
can there be a problem that /media/BACKUP/urbackup is btrfs
and /sharedfolders/Backup/urbackup/ is ext4 ?

but i canged content of /var/urbackup/backupfolder to my ext4 partition before first start.

  1. i did not solve the probleem that urbackup does Backups to my ext4 HDD.

  2. i solved it for my by formatting the hdd to btrfs - and it directly works

but, what can one do that urbackup also works with ext4 as backup-partition?

It’s /etc/urbackup/backupfolder that is pointing to /media/BACKUP/urbackup. This is why it assumes it is btrfs and tries to use btrfs snapshots.
