Error adding S3 compatible Storage configuration

Hello, I’m newby with UrBackup and I’m try to Appliance CE version, when I try to add S3 Compatible Storage, I get this error:

Could you tell what kind of S3 storage it is (to reproduce the issue…) ?

A guess would be that you didn’t create the bucket, so it can’t list bucket contents? Or it returns 404 when listing empty buckets…

Hello Uroni, thanks for your time. I’am use DreamObjects producto by Dreamhost Cloud Object Storage - DreamHost .

I try with an S3 plugin call it ExpandDrive and works fine.

Try if it works if you create a random file in the bucket before using it (as work-around).

What did you fill in as endpoint URL https://bucket.objects-us-east-1.dream.io ?

If yes try https://objects-us-east-1.dream.io as endpoint

Hello Uroni, I upload files through object explorer from Dreamhost directly, it works,but when I try with S3 Explorer software I can’t connect to DreamObjects S3 Compatible. I decided open an Amazon AWS account and try instrucctions from Infscape. When I configure the storage from urbackup appliance I get this message:

I restart but nothing happens.

Hello Uroni, I reseted my VM and install again the appliance, I try with Amazon S3 and it works, from Dreamhost they recommend not use complete endpoint, only objects-us-east-1.dream.io , now I can connect to bucket to make operations over objects from S3 Explorer.
Do you can see this image and clear me some doubts?

  1. If I have one client with 700GB backup size, I need all space available on Urbackup server?
  2. If I clear local storage cache, Can I recovery backup from S3?
  3. How works Cloud Storage, the data are on S3 or only hash or what?
  4. Into S3 I see many folders like hexadecimal format, that it’s backup folders?

Yes

The data is on S3.

No it’s the backup storage. The “folders” are there because S3 requires them for improved performance.
