Hi,
My Ubuntu 18.04 server has btrfs for both the temp and final storage. I would like to know if I should manually dedup the file system or is this automatic ?
If manual, I assume it safe to run duperemove at any stage ?
Thanks,
Pieter

It does whole file deduplication, so running duperemove for block/extent level deduplication may help a bit.
I think in most cases it is not going to be worth the performance hit/time.
(It seems you need to run duperemove with -d -A
as parameters)
Perfect - I figured something like this - until they do it inline it’s not worth the hit
