How can I configure the backup retention time, that is how often or when backups begin to be deleted in backups cycle.
How long is a cycle of backups and when begien to be deleted the first backups in a cycle?

You specify the interval between backups and the number of backups to keep (see UrBackup Administration Manual: Client specific settings). You will end up with a sequence of backups over a period of time approximately the product of these two values, shorter if you run manual backups and longer if the client is offline at some times when the next backup is due.
You can use the archive specification to periodically mark backups for retention for a set period (see UrBackup Administration Manual: Archiving)
