Client reporting "Error during server authentication" after a server reboot

After a server reboot, the client started to report Error during server authentication and backups are failing
Already deleted the /usr/local/var/urbackup/server_idents.txt and recreated it restarting the urbackup client services. Client worked for some seconds and came back reporting Error during server authentication

Client’s UrBackup is reporting the following error:
Oct 09 22:27:12 panthro urbackupclientbackend[156549]: ERROR: Client requires encryption which server does not offer

Client details:

Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)
Kernel: Linux 5.18.0-0.deb11.4-amd64
Architecture: x86-64

Server details:

Operating System: Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-21-amd64
Architecture: x86-64

Which server version you are running?

The problem also occured here: Version 2.5.25 an virtual clients

Compare client’s password on both sides. In my case, after recent upgrades they simply don’t match for auto generated Windows installation files - some dodgy characters are appended at the end of password string.

Dumb question… How do you check the passwords?

Just to be clear - I was talking about older version (looks like this issue was resolved) and Windows clients in internet mode, in which case server side on the client’s settings page, client side settings via the tray icon.
But now I see that you have a completely different setup.

This error is occurring and they are local, so I thought I would check.

UrBackup 2.4.13 Rev. 406665151b

Systems Status under Online Column:
Yes (Error during server authentication)

  • Several computers are affected.
  • New computers are able to connect and back up.
  • It only affects old systems that have been in place for a while.
  • All systems are on the same LAN.

I feel like there should be a simple way to re-establish the client communications.

Any thoughts?

Updating my version on the server seems to have resolved the issue.
