I tried changed a client computer’s name, but the server treated it as a different computer. Is that normal?
It’s not very good, but that how it is.
The most annoying impacts are
- for mac user who keep their computer getting renamed due to a bug
- You ll have to remember that this computer was named like this before when restoring
Because the dedup occurs between clients; backup won t take longer because of it.
OK, let’s wish it will be fixed in the next update.
By the way, is there any way to tell dedup is really taking place? I’m using btrfs on centos 7 under esxi 6.0.
Its hardlink , so ls -li to show inode numbers
then find with option to search by inode number
