Can't backup through internet (outside my network)

Hello all,

I just installed urbackup to my Ubuntu Server, and I can create backups fine in my own network. Outside my network (via internet) the windows client can’t connect to my server.
I configured it like this:
Enable backup via internet: yes
Internet server name/IP: www.mydomain.com
Internet server port: 8084
Internet server password: mypassword

I used the same setting in the web interface on the server, and port 8084 is opened on the router (I can connect to the webinterface from outside my network).
Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

I would suggest that you use the default setup first, then see if it works… once this is completed… then modify…

the setup is pretty simple setup… enter the ip address… I am presuming you restarted the server once you’ve configured the settings, and also modify the internal firewall or better yet disable the internal firewall…

Getting feedback on what is wrong is difficult currenlty, sorry. You can get feedback by enabling debug level logging e.g. on the client. http://www.urbackup.org/Administration_Manual.php?lang=de#x1-440008.2
