Backup failed - disk problem

Hi

Pl find below the today’s log details for one user. It says backup failed because of disk.

Can pl guide on how to over this issue urgently !

Can you check on the client if there are any disk errors in the system log? Also try running a chkdsk on the client to see if any problems are reported.

Hi thanks. I will cross check the log entries.

Meantime, in one more user, below error is coming

08.04.14 12:46 INFO Connecting to ClientService of “Narayanappa” failed: Sending Identity to client “Narayanappa” failed. Retrying soon…

For some users, the backup is happening so fine and for some users like above case, it is showing error.

Can you guide on this urgently !.

The somewhat general “disk error” is usually described by some earlier error message. Can you post all (warnings and errors) log messages of the failed backup?

Those aren’t “disk errors”? This error is usually caused by the connection being interrupted during the filelist construction.

I have the same problem on a lot of client over internet
I work on 1.3.2 urbackup server and 1.3.1 on client

This error is most of the time caused by the client going offline. UrBackup Server 1.4 will not create a separate log for that error. For now you’ll just have to ignore it in this case.

Hi

As indicated, I have checked the system log and also chkdsk run. Everything is normal. Still this backup failed - disk error ; deleting partial backup is coming. Pl find below the error

Haven’t seen this error before. Could occur because of one of the following:

[:8uoriclv]There is a program/process deleteing temporary files. You can change the temporary file folder in the settings.[/:8uoriclv]
[:8uoriclv]There is a race condition in the temporary file creation. I’ll look into this. [/:8uoriclv]
[:8uoriclv]The API seems to be limited to 65,535 files. So something could happenif this limit is reached.[/:8uoriclv]
[/list:u:8uoriclv]

The issue should go away if you disable “Use temporary files as file backup buffers” in the advanced settings.
