Active Directory... can't find documentation?

Hi Folks,

So I wasn’t sure if UrBackup can back up AD domain state or things like that, so I tried to search for it.

I wasn’t able to find anything in the Admin docs, but I found that there has been some discussion about this in the past on the UrBackup forums. However, I am unsure if the AD-centric stuff is for user auth within UrBackup, or if it’s AD state backup, or what.

What exactly is the current state of Active Directory (AD) with UrBackup? Like, what’s the intent, is it broken, how do I use it, etc? :slight_smile:

It implements the Windows backup API in general, so it should work like this: https://www.urbackup.org/backup_mssql.html

No one has tested backup and restore though (and provided screenshots) so it doesn’t have the MSSQL page and isn’t backed up by default.

Ahh thanks! I wasn’t sure if the Components part covered AD stuff too. Might be worth mentioning that in the documentation? I found the MSSQL one, but yeah, was unsure about AD stuff. Thanks for the clarification! :slight_smile:
