I’m fighting with free space here , and loosing the battle. 6TB is not enough for 60x Computers …
So I was wondering what happens if I set Maximal number of full file backups and minimal number of full file backups
to 1 ? ( Because there is no way I have enough space for 2 full backups… )
I hope what it would do is , do one full backup… Keep it…
Then if the other full backup would start it would delete the previous… after it has completed with the full backup
I’m also having trouble with storage in our smaller sites.
From what I understand, old backups are only deleted during the “Cleanup time window”, only once a day so when you do a new backup, you will have (at least) 2 backups until the next cleanup, more if you backup more than once a day.
I only do incremental and the way UrBackup uses symbolic links, it only adds new and modified files to the previous backup which is great but my problem is with PST files, they keep being updated/modified while they’re open in Outlook and so at every backup, UrBackup stores a new version and that prevents me from having several backups a day or long term backup (as I don’t use deduplication).
If I can suggest an option to only keep a few PST versions, maybe be able to keep only one version per day or every week (or smart like 1/day, 1/week, 1/month).
Actually I’m not sure if I could do some of that with Archiving, I didn’t really understand how it works…
@jonathanv
It will cleanup more often, if it runs out of free space. You can do something like you described with the archiving. It then does not delete them within the defined interval, so you have to measure beforehand if your storage is enough.
