After an updat for some of my server script, I have to rename one of my client (Lionel -> lionel) backup name.
I would like to know :
if it is possible and how ? Does a simple dir rename work ?
in a few weeks i will change my server, and by the way move all the backup to the new server. Can I copy urbackup dir ? Have i to export some database ?
No, won’t be that simple. If you rename the client the server will see it as a new one. Renaming the dir messes up some assumptions with regards to database -> filesystem data.
Migating everything should be easy, as long as you leave all the paths the same. That is the backup storage directory and the database files (in /var/urbackup).
